BURN-IN presents painting on canvas in mixed media by Dingo Babusch and Kaldea Nakajima based on their graffiti works and painting and three-dimensional by Yoly Maurer in this Summer-Exhibition.
According to the INPROGRESS principle she developed, Yoly Maurer gives an intuitive impulse. In painting actions such as the TÜREN project, she invites people to participate in the painting process, to enter into a discussion with her by means of brush and paint.
The position of Dingo Babusch and Kaldea Nakajima is quite different. They do involve people in their art as well, but as viewers in public space. Spraying is seen as art on the one hand, and as vandalism on the other. Graffiti has been around longer than art and was born out of a desire to immortalize oneself.
