Incomprehensible actionism in the BURN-IN gallery

Art behind barriers - the new reality.

To think, ponder and philosophize.
The BURN-IN exhibition Mythos & Minimalism: Insights into the World of Forms (Wire.Clay.Fabric.) has attracted a great deal of attention from the Viennese public since the exhibition began at the beginning of March 2023 and has already generated exciting discussions among visitors to the Gerngross.
Totally unexpectedly, BURN-IN currently hit an action that makes you think. The fragile wire art object "Parkbank" by the Upper Austrian artist Markus Moser was destroyed by an unknown visitor during opening hours. Creativity can by no means be denied to the protagonists. Because instead of relying on the meanwhile well-known glue and color throwing actions, one invented the "Ersitzung" of the work of art. The consequence: the work of art was irretrievably destroyed and can also no longer be brought by the artist in its original, unique form.
Pose the following questions:
  • What are the activists trying to tell us?
  • Who was the action addressed to (artist, gallery, society, someone else)
  • Why did no one notice?
BURN-IN focuses on democratizing art and raising awareness for current, relevant topics with its exhibitions in atypical art spaces. Keyword GreenART (environmental awareness, sense-making,sustainability, CSR).
The emphatic, peaceful interaction is always the top priority.
